OnTrack Reading Phonics Program
Teach your student the phonics advanced code in as little as 8 weeks with our 170-page workbook and instruction manual.
The /ee/ sound has nine spellings, e (me), ee (bee), ea (bean), ie (chief), e-e (eve), ei (seize), i (ski), ey (key), and y (happy). These word lists are arranged both by spelling and by the chunk that the spelling occurs. They can be a valuable resource for locating words to illustrate a certain pattern or to find words to practice reading that pattern.
Of the 7,000 words in the database constructed from a popular children’s dictionary, 343 of them are multisyllable words containing the vowel sound /ee/. Because the list would be unreasonably long, the words with the /ee/ sound spelled either "e" or "y" are not included.
Note on the word divisions: Each word is divided into chunks determined by the unique and highly effective OnTrack Reading Multisyllable Method. The chunks are not syllables.
